Susan has extensive experience in transport economics, policy, advocacy and business analysis. With Economics, Journalism and MBA qualifications, Susan focuses on how we design, fund and charge for our transport infrastructure and services so they best meet community needs and desires for safe, affordable and sustainable mobility. As Principal Economist for RACQ, Susan strives to help all stakeholders work together to achieve good outcomes.
Susan has delivered a diverse range of research, transport, economics and infrastructure-related projects and policies that focus on improving transport system outcomes to benefit Queensland.
Capabilities include:
• Strategic policy advice, research and advocacy messaging focussing on infrastructure funding, urban congestion, fuel pricing, taxation, road pricing reform, sustainability and future mobility opportunities.
• Analytical skills including cost benefit analysis, managerial accounting, financial modelling, operational benchmarking, forecasting and budgeting.
• Aligning stakeholders to achieve outcomes, including government and industry and community groups.
• Program and project establishment, coordination and management, turning ideas into policies, plans and community outcomes.
• Report writing including submissions, business cases, cost benefit analyses, factsheets and media releases.
• Media engagement including radio, print and social.
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
