Dr Quanda Zhang (Samuel) is a Lecturer (≈ Assistant Professor) in Economics at the Federation Business School, Federation University Australia. Samuel obtained his PhD in Economics from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University) in 2018. His research interests include Development Economics, Public Policy and Applied Microeconometrics.

Samuel has published papers in journals such as Journal of Development Studies and China Economic Review. His research has been featured by media such as World Economic Forum and Asia Times. He is the recipient of the 2016 RMIT Teaching Award and 2018 RMIT Research Award, annual prizes acknowledging academics who has demonstrated high level of excellence in their research and teaching activity.
