Ivan Rwakijuma
Bio
Ivan Rwakijuma is an economist and policy adviser specialising in economic policy analysis, development planning, and public sector strategy. He holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy and Planning and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, with professional experience across state and local government in Australia and national government in Uganda.
Ivan currently works with the Department of Transport and Planning, where he provides policy analysis on transport accessibility, micromobility, and active transport initiatives, contributing to strategic framework development and evidence-based policy reform. His previous roles with the City of Greater Bendigo included economic performance analysis, economic impact assessment, and policy evaluation supporting regional development and sustainability initiatives.
Earlier, Ivan served as an Economist with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, contributing to financial sector policy, investment climate reforms, and public budgeting processes, and engaging with international development partners. His professional interests include inclusive growth, sustainable transport economics, and the application of economic analysis to inform effective public policy and institutional reform.
