Bio
Currently Chief Analytics Officer, Evidion
From 2016 to 2019, I was the NSW Government's Chief Demographer and the Planning Department's Chief Economist. I led analytics for Premier Berejiklian's Population Review in late 2018/early 2019. In 2017, I also established the Planning department's official cartographic and spatial analysis team.
I specialise in applying cutting edge economic and demographic analysis and forecasting techniques to solve real world policy issues and challenges.
In 2016 I established the NSW Government Common Planning Assumptions Group (CPAG), which for the first time aligned actions across all parts of the NSW Government around agreed authoritative economic, demographic, housing, planning and spatial forecasts and assumptions. This is delivering fiscal savings and productivity benefits to the NSW economy measured in the $ billions each year.
I am regularly invited to speak at conferences and seminars on topics relating to population, housing, housing affordability and employment.
Since establishing my personal consulting business Evidion in early 2020, I have advised several state governments and industry associations in relation to economic and demographics implications of Covid-19.
