Bio
In recognition of his research excellence, in 2024 Dr. Vu received the Dean's Excellence Award in Research. He is also the recipient of several prestigious and fully funded competitive scholarships totalling more than $350,000, including the Ministry of Education and Training Scholarship, the Petrol Vietnam Scholarship, the Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation Scholarship for undergraduate study, and scholarships for both postgraduate and PhD studies.
Before joining UC, Dr. Vu held academic and consulting roles at Griffith University, the University of Queensland, and consulting firms. He also served as a senior lecturer in Economics at the National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (NAPPA) in Vietnam -- the country's foremost institution for training senior government officials and public leaders.
Dr. Vu brings strong expertise in tertiary teaching and applied research, with advanced skills in economic modelling, econometrics, cost-benefit and policy evaluation, data analytics, stakeholder engagement, and project management. He is proficient in a range of analytical tools and software, including Stata, EViews, SPSS, Tableau, Power BI, and ArcGIS.
