Duong Nam Ha is Lecturer in Economics at the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, University of Tasmania (UTAS). He specializes in agricultural economics, value chains, and rural development.
His doctoral thesis investigated the values of smallholder farmers and how these values influence farmers’ marketing decision-making, with a case study of beef cattle value chains in Vietnam. He has a wide range of experience from working on various projects, including those funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), focusing on Vietnam’s beef cattle production and marketing, pig value chains, core skills of agri-labour in the context of digital transformation, and market engagement for sustainable upland production systems.
Before joining UTAS, Ha worked at the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) in Vietnam.
