Professor Alan Duncan is Director of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre (BCEC) and a John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Curtin University. Prior to taking on the role of BCEC Director, Alan was Director of the National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM) and before that, Head of the University of Nottingham School of Economics. Alan’s research is motivated by a passion to influence public debates on economic and social issues through rigorous, evidence-based research. He ranks among the top 5% of economists worldwide, having published widely in both academic and policy outlets of the highest international reputation on topics covering labour and workforce issues, gender equity, economic evaluation, public policy, childcare, housing, migration, poverty and wellbeing. Alan completed a DPhil in Economics at the University of York. He has served on senior advisory panels and boards for government and public sector organisations in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and the US, and has given evidence at numerous Federal Senate Committee inquiries, advising on areas including tax policy, pensions, labour markets and household welfare. He has served as instructor to World Bank country experts on policy evaluation, and was recently invited by the International Monetary Fund to serve as a Mission Expert to the People’s Republic of China Technical Assistance mission on tax reform and employment incentives. Alan was awarded the prestigious Frisch Medal of the Econometric Society in 2000 for the best paper to be published in the world-leading journal, Econometrica. He was appointed John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Curtin University in 2020 in recognition of his research scholarship and sustained contribution to Curtin and the wider community.

Patricia brings extensive policy and advocacy experience particularly in the areas of retirement incomes, superannuation, taxation and housing policies. She has a track record in developing new ventures, successful partnerships and as investment consultant to institutional investors and government. She previously held strategic roles at the Future Fund, Mercer, CBA, Australian Treasury, and ASX.

Dr. Silvia Salazar is an applied economic researcher at Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre at Curtin University. Silvia\'s work focuses on household finance and consumption, the cost of living, and housing economics. She also leads the Quarterly Economic Commentary of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre where she focuses on the economic indicators relevant to the Western Australia economy. As a consequence, Silvia has developed a particular interest in regional diversification and the green economy; topics on which she has authored and led numerous reports and economic analysis. \r\n\r\nDr. Salazar has published in multiple academic outlets on subjects central to her academic research such as the economics of the household, unpaid work, and gender inequality. Silvia obtained her Ph.D. at the Paris School of Economics and she has previously held academic and teaching positions in France at the University of Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne, the University of Paris 13, and the Dom Bosco Catholic University in Brazil. She has presented her research at numerous international conferences and workshops.

Marian is an Associate Professor at The University of Sydney, an IZA Research Fellow, an ARC Life Course Centre Researcher in Human Capital, and a Charles Perkins Centre Affiliate.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nMarian graduated from her PhD at Boston University in 2011 and moved to the University of New South Wales between 2010-2015 before joining the University to the Sydney. \\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nHer research focuses on education, human capital, health, and discrimination and has been published in leading international journals in economics and health (PNAS). Marian\\\\\\\'s down to earth divulgation style has led her to obtain a range of teaching awards and recognitions.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nMarian has given a myriad of national and international radio interviews and her research has been featured in TV shows such as Sunrise Weekend and ABC News. She is also a regular collaborator of educational-related news on SBS Radio in Spanish.
