Professor Rachel Ong
Rachel Ong is Professor of Economics at the Curtin Business School and Deputy Director of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre, Curtin University. Previously she was Deputy Director of Curtin University’s Centre for Research in Applied Economics. Rachel is currently an Associate Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research and a member of the Steering Committee for the Asia-Pacific Network for Housing Research. Her research addresses a range of important policy issues relating to housing and population ageing. These include housing affordability dynamics, the role of housing wealth in retirement, intergenerational housing concerns, and the links between housing and the economy. She has long-standing expertise in the evaluation of tax-transfer reforms.
