Process for Election of President, Secretary & Treasurer

    

The Executive roles are for 3-year terms.  Encumbents can stand for re-election. The current executive terms finish on 31 August 2025.

Our constitution dictates that the Secretary has to conduct the election according to the following timeline.

  1. Three (3) months notice to all ahead of the election, notice of the elections is given to all financial members of the ESA.
  2. Two (2) months before the election, nominations close for all 3 positions.
  3. One (1) month before the election, all financial members of the ESA are advised of the names of every person nominated for each role.
  4. If there is more than one nomination for a specific role, there will be an election for that role.
  5. If there is only one nominatrion for a specific role, then that person will be declared as the successful candidate.
  6. If there are no nominations for a specific role, then a fresh call for nominations will be called for that role (NB: this has never happened but ..)
  7. for President: all financial members of the ESA are eligible to vote.
  8. for Treasurer and Secretary: only member with voting rights on Central Council are eligible to vote.

All elections will be administered via the Survey Monkey platform. There will be a voting window of 5 days, ending on 5:00pm (AEST) 29 August 2025.

The outcome of every election will be annouced as soon as practical after the end of voting.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM is a regulatory requirement and only for the members of Central Council.
