Wendy’s current work is of ‘gig’ style. She has four key roles that involve finance and start ups with varied involvement.
Wendy commenced her career with National Mutual in 1990 as a business analyst moving across to funds management where she had a long and enjoyable career that involved managing debt portfolios around $14 bn whilst completing her CFA, starting the CFA Society Melbourne and taking on numerous roles for the institute including being an integral member of the Asian Advocacy committee.
Wendy established and headed up the debt team at ME Bank that is now at IFM, and then decided there was more to managing money than pure economic models and returned to University to complete a Graduate Diploma in Psychology to start incorporating behaviour science in understanding investment management.
Over the last few years Wendy has worked with a number of start ups in funding and structuring, government relations and strategy that are in the sectors of aged care, health and finance, as well as starting her own business of Financial Counselling to better equip women to take control of their own financial futures. She holds a B.Ec from Monash University, is CFA Charterholder and on the Melbourne Board, and has completed the Diploma in Financial Planning and Graduate Diploma in Psychology from University of Melbourne.
