Same Sex Marriage and Economic Growth
In November, a clear majority of Australians voted 'Yes' in favour of allowing same sex couples to marry. Shortly afterwards - and before a Private Members Bill was tendered in the House of Representatives – we asked the ESA National Economic Panel for their views on the following proposition:
"Assuming that the law will be changed to allow same-sex couples to marry in Australia, this will generate net economic benefits for the nation as a whole over the next 10 years."
